The Glassworks on Cardigan Lane is a multi-storey new build student accommodation development offering one and two bedroom apartments, totalling 150 en-suite bedrooms.Residents will have on site facilities including, a private cinema, gym, sauna, steam rooms, games zone, terrace and study rooms.
The accommodation typically includes clusters of 3 bedrooms with kitchenette facilities and a shared lounge. A number of studio apartments have also been provided to the upper floors, a total of 154 bedrooms are provided within the development. On the ground floor the development also provides study spaces, spa facilities and a cinema. The development is situated on a tight urban site with a steep slope and railway embankment to the western boundary.
ARP was appointed to provide Geotechnical, Structural and Civil engineering services on this project. The Geotechnical team provided the phase 1 and phase 2 geotechnical reports and carried out slope stability assessments of the adjacent railway embankments. The Civil engineering team provided external works layouts, the drainage design and managed all relevant approvals. The Structural engineering team provided the design for the substructure and superstructure.
